Home Start, Homestart, furniture project of the exchange club of tacoma.Home Start is a Tacoma Exchange Club program that provides services and goods to individuals or families who are in need of "items" which will help to make a house or an apartment more like a home.

For a variety of reasons, many people do not have or cannot afford to purchase household items which will help to restore or complete a home environment where they live. They may need items such as beds, bedding, tables, chairs, couches, pots and pans, lights, cookware, small appliances, and many other things that help to make a home life-style comfortable. The Home Start Program Manager has established many contacts throughout the Tacoma and Pierce County areas, with government agencies and organizations who assist in identifying people in need as well as finding individuals, organizations, and businesses that may have goods and items to contribute to the program.

Home Start becomes the "coordinator" of the wants and needs of people seeking assistance, the "collector" of donated goods and items, the "repairer/fixer" of some of the goods and items collected, the "warehousing agent" for goods and items, the "proprietor" of the no cost store where the goods and items are distributed, and the "benefactor" to now over 4,000 very happy and satisfied clients associated with the Home Start program.

Home Start, Homestart, furniture project of the exchange club of tacoma. ** Do you know of someone in need of some Goods and Items?

** Can you contribute or do you know someone who could contribute Goods or Items to this Home Start program?

** Would you or someone that you know like to assist with the Home Start program? (pickups - deliveries - work in the warehouse - or any other assistance)

We would welcome your input and assistance in making the program "better" so that we can serve a greater number of clients in the Tacoma/Pierce County areas.
